At Coded Pathways, I work with children who are not experiencing success or steady progress in reading, spelling, and writing.

Many of the families I support have already noticed that their child is trying hard, but something is not connecting in their learning. Progress may feel slow, inconsistent, or unclear. This can be difficult to understand why, or how to help.

My role is to bring clarity to that uncertainty. I offer detailed literacy assessment and targeted intervention. I help identify what needs to happen next to move forward.

Meet Janette – Literacy Specialist & Learning Advocate

Hi, I’m Janette! Literacy specialist, mum, and lover of all things learning!

I am a specialist literacy interventionist with a background as a classroom teacher and leader of Literacy and Learner Diversity.

In these roles, I have worked extensively with children across a wide range of learning profiles, from early literacy development through to students with more complex literacy needs. This includes children with dyslexia and dysgraphia, as well as those with ADHD and autism, where attention, regulation, sensory processing, and language demands can significantly impact literacy development.

This experience in both classroom teaching and leadership has shaped how I understand learning—not as isolated skills, but as interconnected parts that must be analysed carefully to understand why a child may not be progressing as expected.

My work is grounded in the science of reading and structured literacy approaches. It is supported by specialist training in explicit, evidence-based literacy instruction.

I am an accredited practitioner with Sounds-Write, and have completed specialist training in Specific Learning Disability through DSF.

I also hold accreditation with the Australian Dyslexia Association, awarded in recognition of my demonstrated expertise in understanding and supporting children with significant reading, spelling, and writing difficulties.

This combination of classroom experience, leadership, and specialist accreditation informs how I assess and interpret literacy development. It allows me to build a clear, accurate understanding of each child’s literacy profile.

Through assessment, I look closely at how your child is processing and using language across reading, spelling, and writing. This includes how skills are developing, how they interact under increasing demand, and where breakdowns may be occurring.

The outcome is a clearer understanding of your child’s literacy development. It helps form a targeted pathway and, where appropriate, structured intervention.

If your child is not experiencing expected progress in reading, spelling, or writing, the first step is clarity.
